Porsche Cayenne Turbo
Recently hearing the word "Porsche", nobody would have thought of a sports car other than a two-door one. The weekend spent on the Porsche Cayenne test trip can prove that the time has come for SUVs.
Porsche Cayenne Turbo test (2018)
The excitement in the Porsche Cayenne is aroused by the note "Turbo" on the model. Although this model saved the brand from bankruptcy, it is not a continuation of the legendary "nine hundred eleven".
The third generation of Porsche Cayenne does not differ in appearance from its predecessor. However, changes can be noticed at the rear of the vehicle, where the position of the lights has been replaced by a stylish belt that cuts through the tailgate opening the boot. The Porsche Cayenne "Turbo" is an elegant vehicle, and in its design it is easy to find references to other Porsche models such as the Panamera Porsche or the Porsche 718.
The "Turbo" version of Porsche Cayenne is the essence of subtleties. Yellow ceramic brake calipers and large rims can reveal the high performance of this vehicle. Similarly, you can think of the four exhaust ends, which are located in the rear bumper.
Raising the hood of the Porsche Cayenne "Turbo" removes all doubts about the capabilities of this car. The wheels are driven by a powerful V8 with a capacity of 4 litres. Dual turbocharging delivers 550 hp and 770 Nm. Using the Performance Start option cuts the acceleration time up to 100km/h up to 3.9 seconds.
Porsche Cayenne "Turbo" is a huge car in size. It is up to 5 meters long and 2 meters wide, which makes it impossible to park it in some places. Inside, this is a very spacious car, which does not lack space even in a practical and spacious boot.
The power and enormity of this SUV is also felt behind the wheel. The right position for the driver does not seem to be too high a seat thanks to the quite high central console. However, the supply air grilles are operated manually.
Controllers in the console are ergonomically and intuitively placed so that there is no problem remembering the distribution of used functions.
The large display, which supports the infotainment system, deserves great recognition. Thanks to the vivid colours and proper sharpness it is one of the best quality screens in cars. The interface supports CarPlay and Android Auto standards. It is also complemented by Burmester speakers worth over 23 thousand zlotys.
Shortcomings such as the plastic steering wheel inserts or the crackling handle on the console can be forgotten as soon as the engine is started. The sound of the V8 reminds us of the power of the Porsche Cayenne "Turbo". The eight-speed "automatic" gently changes gears in full driving comfort. Pressing the accelerator pedal hardens the suspension, sharpens the gearbox and increases the vigilance of the accelerator pedal.
However, a big car that accelerates at great speed is not something that can surprise you. The biggest advantage of the Porsche Cayenne "Turbo" are the turns. On winding roads it behaves like a sports car. It stays securely on the road and the steering system allows you to keep your direction of travel perfectly when cornering. Ceramic brakes stop the car in a very short distance.
This version of Porsche Cayenne is an expense of at least 681 thousand zlotys. However, the completeness of this car makes it worth its high price.
This version of Porsche Cayenne allows you to understand where the "magic" of Porsche comes from. The high technical quality and precision of the Zuffenhausen engineers make the Cayenne Turbo a perfect example of the ideal Sport Utility Vehicle.
