How to organize a banquet

When organizing a banquet it is very easy to forget even the key issues, especially if it is necessary to make a banquet in a hurry or it is one of the first events organized by us. Therefore, it is worthwhile to base this activity on a list of necessary actions. What, then, should such a list of activities contain?

Preparation of the list of invitees

This is the first and most important issue. We must certainly not forget about it. Preparing a list of guests is first of all a concept of what people we want to see at our event. It is also important to consider the most important issues relating to whether accompanying persons are invited or whether children can also be present. A list of invited persons must be drawn up and all further things are prepared based on this list. Regardless of the form in which guests will be invited, they should be notified of the event 4-6 weeks before the event starts so that they can plan their arrival. In addition to time and place information, the invitation should also include requirements for the dress code and similar issues.

Place and decorations

The choice of the place where the banquet will take place is of great importance for the success of the project. We need to take care of many detailed issues here, such as the size of the banquet hall itself. In this case, however, we should not exaggerate, because too big a room is not a tragedy and certainly the room cannot be too small, but too much space will certainly not be a positive factor.

Also important is the decoration understood very broadly, that is from the general arrangement of the room, to the issues related to the placement of decorations on the tables. Lighting, acoustics, decorations around the hall.... When it comes to aesthetics, one should not forget about the aesthetics of the meals and drinks served. Man to a large extent with his eyes and this must not be underestimated.

Eating is always a key issue at all banquets and it doesn't matter how many people are invited to the event. When choosing a catering company, it is best to be guided by its experience and typical orders that it carries out. The details depend on the guests and if you don't know exactly which preferences will characterize them, you can easily opt for a very varied Swedish table.

An important issue is always the waiter's service and in general the service of the whole catering together with the bartender's service. It is a good idea to organise a short consultation before choosing a catering company to make sure that its products and employees meet our requirements.

Added value

Everything else is basically added value, but it must be borne in mind that an absolute minimum is not enough to achieve success. You need to offer something more, such as entertainment, live music and everything else that will make your guests remember the banquet.
